• ENGAGEMENT CORTEX
    SURVEY

Thank you for taking part in the Engagement Institute’s testing of the Engagement Cortex.

The Engagement Cortex is our next-generation model of community engagement, informed by more than three years of discussion, engagement and research. It provides a new way to consider influence on decision-making and action across both organisation-led and community-led engagement.

We are now inviting practitioners across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand to help us test and refine the model.

This survey is designed to understand:

    • how clearly the Engagement Cortex and its key concepts are understood
    • how well it reflects contemporary engagement practice
    • how useful it is likely to be in different professional and organisational contexts
    • whether any language, elements or supporting guidance require further clarification
    • what may need to be addressed before people and organisations can use it
    • what guidance, tools, examples, resources and learning would best support its use.

Your feedback will help the Engagement Institute identify what needs to be refined and what support will be required to make the Engagement Cortex practical, accessible and useful across different engagement contexts.

The survey is completed in two parts:

Part 1 - Your feedback on the Engagement Cortex

You will be asked about your understanding of the model, its language and structure, how well it represents contemporary practice, its anticipated practical usefulness, the supporting Guidance Note, the name Engagement Cortex, and what may support or affect its use in practice.

You will also have an opportunity to provide additional comments.

    Part 2 - About You

A small number of questions will help us understand the profile and organisational context of those participating in the survey and assist us in interpreting the findings.
