Be Part of the Engagement Institute 2026 Symposium!
Planning is underway for the 2026 Symposium, and we’re excited to centre the event around the topics that matter most to you. Your insights are essential for shaping a programme that promotes rich knowledge exchange and tackles key issues in community and stakeholder engagement.
There are a few ways you can get involved:
1. Suggest Topics and Speakers
Share your ideas and suggest topics for the Symposium to ensure the programme is engaging and relevant for all attendees.
2. Host a Site Tour
We’re inviting organisations and groups to host site visits in the CBD during the Symposium, offering attendees a chance to explore projects - completed or in progress - that exemplify strong community engagement.
If you have a project with a compelling story and successful engagement strategies, we’d love to hear about it! Share your idea here or email events@engagementinstitute.org.au
3. Join Our Working Group
We’re calling for expressions of interest to join our programme working group for the 2026 Symposium. If you have the skills and enthusiasm to contribute, we’d love to have you on board!
This team will play a key role in:
- Guiding the development of the programme and activities
- Providing insights into engagement practices to support content development

- Engaging local area colleagues and providing support for the event
Selection Criteria:
- Previous attendance at an Engagement Institute (formerly IAP2A) Conference or Symposium (and/or other Engagement Institute events)
- Ability to commit time to the working group (monthly teleconferences / Zoom meetings) and follow-up actions
